Position on Committee: Communications
Since moving on from early beginnings in the entertainment business (a glamorous word for running seedy clubs), I've been in various sectors of b2b media for longer than I care to say. As well as eight years in the Construction and Property sectors working on Construction News, Architects' Journal, New Civil Engineer, Interbuild, Civils and others, I've spent time in hospitals, nursing, pharmaceuticals, science and retail. A career in the media is fascinating for the insight it gives you into other people's marketing efforts, and is thus the ideal life for a nosy parker.
I'm now Principal of Chart Lane, a marketing strategy consultancy specialising in construction and property, as well as a contributor and columnist for Constuction News, and B2B Marketing magazine.
I've been involved in CIMCIG for many years now, five of them as part of the organising committee, and I remain passionately committed to helping shareholders and senior management everywhere understand the value that quality marketing can add to a business.
Rob is Content Director at Glenigan.
James is currently Head of Marketing and Communications at Cersture, who are dedicated to providing professional services and certification to a wide range of customers across the building services sector.

Cate is Senior Marketing Manager at Graham The Plumbers Merchant (Saint Gobain).
Anna has been working in PR in the built environment sector for over 20 years, both in-house and within agencies. During that time she has built a wealth of experience working within the construction industry supply chain, understanding the complex relationship between manufacturers, specifiers, consultants and contractors.
Now MD and owner of construction specialist agency Ridgemount PR, Anna’s knowledge is most often put to use advising clients on top-line marketing strategy, with Ridgemount PR generally managing or contributing to an integrated marketing campaign rather than focusing purely on the public relations element.
Something of a social media obsessive, Anna has also masterminded the evolution of Ridgemount PR into an effective content generation specialist, with a particularly successful track record of working in results-driven collaborations with other agencies.
