Why join CIMCIG?
With a turnover of £90 billion a year, some 8% of the UK’s GDP, and employing over 2 million people throughout the country, the construction industry is big… and CIMCIG will help you do a better job so that you will earn more – whilst working within it.
It’s easy to join CIMCIG. There are two methods:
Existing CIM Member: If you are already a CIM member you can join CIMCIG for free. Simply contact the membership department at CIM (CIM, Moor Hall, Cookham, Berkshire, SL6 9QH – +44 (0) 1628 427 120 – firstname.lastname@example.org) and ask to be added to the CIMCIG database.
Become a CIM and CIMCIG member: You can join CIM and receive all the benefits of this professional chartered body. There are several types of CIM membership available and there is a discount for members who pay by direct debit.
Membership levels most relevant to CIMCIG members are:
Affiliate Member (Professional and Studying)
Fees are UK and Western Europe membership £124 to £144, outside EU £100
Refer to the relevant page on the CIM website. Affiliate member (studying) is necessary for those studying for a CIM qualification whilst Affiliate (professional) membership allows those who do not qualify for higher membership grades to take full advantage of the benefits and services of CIM. There are no specific requirements for this membership grade.
Associate Member (ACIM)
ACIM fees are UK and Western Europe membership £166 standard rate, £134 international rate.
To qualify members must have academic qualifications of one of:
- CIM postgraduate diploma;
- university degree majoring in marketing;
- equivalent diploma in marketing;
- equivalent marketing professional body examination;
- recognised university degree or chartered professional body admission examination;
- NSVQ level 4 in marketing.
For non-marketing related qualifications, at least 3 years experience in marketing is required. Refer to the relevant page on the CIM website.
MCIM fees are UK and EU membership £189, £156 international rate
To qualify members must have three years practical experience in marketing of which one year must have been in management. For non-marketing related qualifications, a minimum of six years experience with at least 2 years in management is required.
Academic qualifications of one of: CIM postgraduate diploma; university degree majoring in marketing; equivalent diploma in marketing; equivalent marketing professional body examination; recognised university degree or chartered professional body admission examination; NSVQ level 5 in any subject. FCIM fees are UK and EU membership £220, £195 international rate.
To qualify members must have a proven record of expertise and strategic responsibility at Chief Executive, Senior Marketing executive or Senior academic level for at least three years. Marketing consultants may be elected to fellowship provided they have operated in this capacity for at least five years, either developing their own business or with a major marketing consultancy, and have worked with high profile companies. Awarded by CIM in recognition of practical experience, expertise and sound theoretical knowledge. It can only be held by Full members or Fellows who are committed to and have completed two consecutive years of CPD. Refer to the relevant page on the CIM website.
