Accommodation booking – CMA principles

In February the CMA issued a set of principles to help ensure that accommodation booking platforms don’t mislead consumers. They focus on four main practices that could mislead consumers: failure to disclose the effect of payments on search results; misleading reference prices; misleading presentation of prices; and misleading statements on popularity and availability. This article examines each in turn.
