I have been working in the Medical sector since 1990 from initially working in sales before moving to marketing and other commercial roles. My focus has been with MedTech mostly but also other areas including clinical nutrition . This has been in both the UK and Internationally.

In the various roles held with companies including BD, Covidien, Hospira, Novartis and Fresenius Kabi , my roles most recently has been to define and develop strategies for growth and then implementing them. To achieve this I learnt a valuable skill essential for any marketer and that was to work across functions to gain “buy in” to achieve the results. Part of what I have learnt is the need to work at a strategic level but then shift to operational or day to day issues easily and manage multiple topics simultaneously.

Of course this was not achieved alone and the results achieved were through great teams through challenge and instilling critical thinking and a “can do” attitude.

I am now working as a consultant where I have been able to take what I have learnt and work with clients to improve or develop form scratch their plans for success in this dynamic sector.

It was also wanted to find ways to continue to contribute to the ongoing development of medical marketers and took on the role of chair of the SIG Medical Marketing Group within the CIM. But equally one of the important objectives of a SIG is to have the opportunity to connect and meet like-minded professionals who like me enjoy the privilege of working in healthcare.

Profile:

Linda is Regional Manager for Cook Medical, a privately held medical devices manufacturer, in the Reproductive Health (RH) division. Linda manages Distribution Channel Partners in the EMEA; Israel, Poland, South Africa, Czech Republic, Croatia, Portugal and Hungary. The role was designed to increase market penetration and change customer experiences with tools that were originally developed for direct markets.

Linda has worked for Cook since November 1990 and began her journey in the company in UK sales for urology, gynecology and IVF. She moved into product management and then progressed to a sales management role. In the last several years, Linda has also managed sales forces in direct European markets; Scandinavia, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland (German Speaking), Austria, Spain, Ireland and UK.

Linda holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Life Sciences, a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (MCIM) and an Executive MBA from Imperial College, London.

Blair is the Market Access Manager for the medical device company, Bard Limited.

Blair has a degree in Biomedical Sciences, Masters in Marketing Management, PostGrad Diploma and Diploma in Marketing, Diploma in Digital Marketing and is a Chartered Marketer.
